BE Connected: Introduction to Tango

This workshop explores the fundamentals of Argentine Tango. You will experience "The Cabaceo", inviting someone to dance with only a glance. "The Abrazo", connecting through the embrace, and "The Pista", the code of walking.

This class will offer both contact and non-contact options. We recommend attending the class with a partner / friend you feel comfortable touching but not required! No experience necessary.

If you have taken this workshop before, the first hour will be to learn the various movements. Second hour is for open dance to practice with yourself or a partner. You are welcome to join us for both hours or just the open dance!

To Bring: Please wear non marking shoes that slide. Smooth bottom leather or dance shoes work best, but you can dance in your socks too! You will need to be able to pivot.

Event Type: In person, indoor

Attendees: Archipelago Members + Member Guests only

Capacity: 10 people, socially distanced

Location: The Attic, 2345 7th St.
