Conscious Parenting Meetup

  • Archipelago Clubs 3832 Tennyson Street Denver, CO, 80212 United States (map)

Being a parent is an extremely rewarding, challenging and humbling experience. With such a wide array of opinions and philosophies on the best ways to educate, nurture, and discipline children; many parents feel overwhelmed and uncertain about what methods will work best for their family.

This meetup aims to create a compassionate space of collaboration where parents can be honest about how they currently show up as parents, how they desire to show up and what tangible steps can be taken to bridge this gap; so that their parenting style is consciously rooted in an authentic place of love, trust, and empathy.

The intention of this meetup is for parents to walk away with a better understanding of their childhood, how they were raised, how that contributed to who they are and how they parent today, and ultimately how they can be consciously present in the moments when their child needs them the most.

Event Type: This is an in-person experience for Members + Non-Members.

About Kendall Schauermann:

Kendall is a Wellness Facilitator with Habitual Roots, a community dedicated to being the integration point of emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and habit change. He is a father of two toddlers and has personally seen how important community is to well-being. As a father, he had trouble finding programming that incorporated reflection, mindfulness, and meditation specifically aimed at supporting parents. His mission is to create a space that allows others to authentically connect with their inner child so that they can be the parents they have always wanted to be.

About Max Marschhausen:
Since 2017 I have been in the education field, working with the same group of kids since 4th grade, giving me the unique lense of seeing a child's development from 4th grade to middle school. I have worked as a mentor with the Colorado Mentor Corps serving a caseload of 4th graders. From 2018-2019 I taught 5th Grade, and now I am an Extended Learning Director with the Colorado I have a Dream Foundation building an afterschool enrichment program for Middleschoolers. Through my years of dedication with this particular class of students I have made great relationships with the kids themselves, and also their families. I have the unique perspective of seeing a vast amount of different parenting approaches in my time with these students, and I have also had my very own unique parenting experience. As a young and budding entrepreneur, and someone who strongly relates to the population of students I am serving, I have identified a better way to approach education for children. Currently I am developing my skills so that I may go off and build my own school with a more “human” friendly way to learn that incorporates the great outdoors and experiential based learning. Through my years as an educator and mentor, one thing remains true across all relationships between students and families, and that's giving them permission to show up exactly as they are. When Children and parents feel they can enter a space and be totally themselves, that vulnerability moves to growth for the child and parent. I am so grateful to have stepped into my field of genius at such a young age and I am so excited with how much more I have to learn, the journey ahead will be challenging and oh so rewarding!
